At the commencement ceremonies for Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, President Harrison was awarded the Doctor of Divinity degree, honoris causa. Also receiving an honorary doctorate was The Reverend Doctor Ernest Alfred Wilhelm Weber, Jr., translator of numerous theological works into the Setswana and Zulu languages. In a surprise move, the faculty and Board of Regents also awarded an honorary doctorate to outgoing president, The Reverend Doctor Dean O. Wenthe.
